    Privacy Policy

    1. Data we collect

    • Email address (account identifier) • Profile data you provide (display name, gender — gender is used solely to conduct the traditional divination ritual) • Your divination questions and the AI-generated readings • Follow-up questions and answers • Feedback ratings and outcome reports • Credit ledger and purchase records • Approximate country derived from your IP address — used ONLY to select the appropriate crisis-support hotline information shown during safety interventions.

    2. Privacy Mode

    When Privacy Mode is enabled, the question, reading, and follow-ups for that session are NOT stored in our database. They exist only in your browser session and are discarded when the tab closes. The server processes the text transiently to generate the response; nothing is persisted.

    3. Processors and subprocessors

    We use the following categories of subprocessors: cloud database and authentication (Supabase), AI inference gateway providers, payment processing (Stripe), and transactional email delivery. Stripe processes limited payment, fraud-prevention, tax, and dispute information. EKIDAN.AI does not store full card details. We do not sell personal data. We do not use personal data for advertising.

    4. AI training

    We do NOT use your questions or readings to train models. Outcome feedback is used for service improvement ONLY when you explicitly tick the corpus-consent checkbox (mapped to the reading_feedback.corpus_consent field). When you consent, your outcome report is automatically stripped of personally identifying fragments (emails, links, handles, phone numbers, long digit runs) and placed in a review queue. It never reaches the retrieval corpus automatically: a human reviewer must edit and approve it first, and it is stored separately from the historical Takashima records.

    5. Retention

    Account data is retained for as long as the account exists. Deleting your account removes your readings and feedback from production systems (the database uses ON DELETE CASCADE). Residual copies in backups are purged on a rolling basis.

    6. Your rights

    You have rights of access, export (the app already provides TXT and JSON export), correction, and deletion. To exercise them, contact support@ekidan.ai.

    7. Cookies and local storage

    We use authentication session tokens (Supabase Auth) and a sessionStorage flag that tracks Privacy Mode. We do NOT use third-party advertising trackers.

    8. International data transfers

    Data is processed in the United States and Japan (Supabase ap-northeast-1).

    9. Anonymous product analytics

    We collect anonymous product-usage events (PostHog) to improve the service. Only pageviews, feature categories, durations, identifiers, and aggregate counts are sent. Your divination questions, reading text, outcome reports, and email address are NEVER sent to analytics. Session recording and autocapture are disabled.

    10. Children

    This service is not directed at users under 18.
